Shanti Mission Harmony Centres
Guru Shakti Durga
Lalita Sestito - My favorite healing and meditation teacher
If you are feeling lost, low in energy or just want to share abundance and joy with others. Then stop by the Shanti Mission Harmony Centres. After being introduced to the centre by my Mum, I spent 4 wonderful weeks enjoying meditation and healing at the Sydney location.
The Shanti Mission Harmony Centres are schools for the soul which means that they are centres of study in respect of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual good health.
The primary role of The Harmony Centre is to teach and demonstrate the role of our spirit in creating good health. Through understanding that we have to look after our spirit as well as our physical body, we can lead healthier, happier and more peaceful lives and often make astounding recovery from acute and chronic health problems and serious, stressful life events.
The concept that we have an energy field is now widely discussed but not yet universally understood despite growing research and anecdotal evidence of its role in wellness. Pain (physical as well as mental) as well as stress are held in our energy field, and we help people learn how to remove or minimize it.
Ignite Your Spirit therapy, an energetic healing modality (recognized and accredited by the Energetic healers Association of Australia and the International Association of Complementary Therapy) is taught and practiced at The Harmony Centres.
At the Harmony Centres there is always a (free) cup of tea and like minded people to talk to and to share experiences. People are able to explore their studies and their spirituality in a safe environment. We are multi-faith: Everyone is welcome and respected. People from all backgrounds come together to learn and practice ways to bring more joy, peace, well being and grace into their lives.
Through our seminars we educate the public about the benefits of meditation, energetic (light and sound) healing, and mental well being. The wonderful results we obtain in classes and healings at our Harmony centres is giving people hope and happiness, and a greater sense of personal empowerment.
The training programs are offered to the public by donation.
Check out the website for a location near you.
Enjoy,
Jordan

Inspiration for my dining area
What a fun day i had with my good friend Interior Designer Vanessa De Vargas, we were designing my dining area. I have attached an inspiration board.
I already have the Nina Campbell wallpaper $10.00 a roll from the last Designer Tag sale, You really would not believe the deals, and should make it to the next one if you like to shop for home decor. The Tulip dining table was picked up this week from out of the closet in Weho for $50.00, sisal rug $99.00 from Ikea, 80's chairs were $15.00 a piece from another charity store. Just bought the blue/natural zig zag fabric today (the last 6 yards for $10.00 a yard from a fabric store downtown) for the 80's chairs. The stunning vintage bamboo cabinet is on loan from My friend Alona the owner of Capri restaurant on Abott kinney Blvd, and is for sale $1200.00
Next week will search for the burlap window treatments and a light fixture.
Will keep you updated on the progress.

KELLY LAPLANTE LAUNCHING "STANDARD" ONLINE MAGAZINE!
The fabulous Kelly Leplante is launching an online magazine This September. EVERYTHING in the magazine will be eco friendly or Green but neither of these words will be said. In Kelly's own words. The idea for Standard came, quite naturally, from the mantra I have been repeating for years: “green is a standard, not a style.”
Read more of what Kelly has to say below.
After almost a year of scheming and dreaming I am proud to announce that my new periodical publication, Standard Magazine, will debut online this September. The cutting below is a tiny portion of our fall cover, illustrated by Dallas Shaw. Journalism runs through my blood like a mint julep through a silver straw so this move into the world of publishing was probably predestined on some cosmic level. Over the years of penning this blog and my 2008 book écologique, I’ve realized how much power there is in the written word and how much I can continue to effect a positive change in the design industry by regularly putting forth something beautiful and inspirational.
The idea for Standard came, quite naturally, from the mantra I have been repeating for years: “green is a standard, not a style.” After more than a decade of pushing my industry toward sustainability I’ve decided that the time has come to really treat green like a standard—and that means not making a big deal about it anymore.
So that is what we are going to do at Standard. We will only ever feature sustainable products and design but we will not be giving out brownie points (or even mentioning) things that should just be status quo. You won’t see the words “recycled content” or “FSC Certified” but you can be assured that we are presenting you with the cream of the eco-crop on every page of every issue. That is just our Standard.
As you may imagine, this changes things for me as well. While I will continue to practice green design, I am no longer calling myself a “green designer” because, if I am not going to give anyone else brownie points for doing the right thing, then I’m not going to give them to myself either. The adventures will change too, and I look forward to sharing all of the ups and downs with you, here on my blog.
Now, I hope that you will go right on over to check out the Standard website and read our pre-launch blog where you can meet the contributors, see some sneak-peaks of the fall issue, view some great design and become a registered reader. (You can also “like” us on facebook, of course.)
I can't wait!

Be sure to check out C California style magazine. Page 115, there is a great story and pics on the historic EI Royale apartment building on Rossmore Ave, Hancock Park. (Sandy the building Manager of 35 years has retired)
I had the chance to live there for a short time in the late 90's. Amazing times. My favorite was 2 hour walks with my good friend Caroline every night. "look how happy they are dancing"
