I think these are fabulous. I also like the ones from gel fireplaces. They have cute little linear models you can place anywhere.
These fireplaces are illegal in California for two reasons: It is vent free and California law prohibits vent free fireplaces and it uses liquid or gel fuel in and open fire situation which is also against California law.
Ecosmart are not considered fireplaces, decorative appliances and do not require a permit at all.
